Ideal for a beginner seeking to explore a new craft, our silver jewellery making workshop promises to be an inspiring journey of fun, creativity and craftsmanship.

The workshop takes place in an intimate setting in groups of no more than 4 to ensure you get personalised, dedicated tuition and guidance throughout the process and you will have hands-on access to professional tools and materials.

Workshops are held within the lovely surroundings of The Garden Room in Princess Street, Shrewsbury. Please note that the studio is upstairs and is only accessible by a staircase. 

Advanced booking is essential.

What you will make

This workshop is designed to give a good introduction to basic silversmithing techniques. You will make a practice ring in copper before moving onto producing one or two rings in silver (time allowing), with the opportunity to add textures or decorative elements using a hammer or other techniques.

Ideal for

Complete beginners onwards. Please note that a good level of dexterity and eyesight is required. Over 18s only.

What you will learn

The basics of jewellery making techniques such as annealing, shaping, saw piercing, filing, soldering and polishing.

What's included

All equipment and materials including sterling silver to make your finished piece, plus tea, coffee and biscuits/nibbles.

What you should bring

Yourself, reading glasses or magnifying glasses if you need extra magnification for close-up detail, and an apron, plus a willingness to learn and have fun!
For safety reasons please wear closed toed shoes, avoid loose clothing such as scarves and have long hair tied back.

Cancellation Policy

Please inform us as soon as possible by email if you'd like to cancel your place. Unfortunately, refunds are not available unless the place can be filled after cancellation, but every effort will be made to refill your place.

Bookings

Price is per person.

All workshops must be booked and paid for in full at time of booking. We are unable to reserve or hold places for courses. ​

In the unlikely event that a class has to be cancelled or rescheduled, a full refund will be offered or you can transfer your place to another suitable workshop.
